MIT is open to all grade levels. Musicians learn to perform commercial music in a classroom setting on guitar, bass, drums/percussion, keyboard, and vocals. Musicians are grouped into rock bands and practice performing songs from various genres & time periods. This is a performing group with 3-5 concerts per year along with field trips to places like Disneyland! It is a great class for making friends and learning how to work as a team/band. Performances are required.

This class is open to all grade levels. There is NO audition or application required. Students learn how to play the guitar starting with open chords, barre and two string power chords, picking, and various strumming patterns. Students are introduced to reading music/tablature and play various genres of commercial music. After the first concert, students are grouped with others in a rock band. Sowers has an inventory of instruments to lend.
